- The new skills I acquired by working on the web design assignment are organization of a website, the creation of a website, different uses for a website, and clearly providing information about school related activities in one place. I learned how to set up a website so that it was efficiently and easily accessible, and each page contain relevant information. I had to use design principles to make the website, appealing, easy to interpret, and symmetrical/proportionate. I used the same fonts throughout the website. I made the pictures lineup and be appealing to the eye so that everything looked centered. I didn’t overcrowd information on one page so that looking at the website wasn’t confusing. I thought it was cool to design a website, but I think the platform I used was a bit confusing and glitchy. I also couldn’t really figure out how to publish my page at first . This is definitely a helpful assignment that I will use whenever I have my own classroom.
in my classroom, I could use QR codes to take attendance, take short quizzes, as icebreakers or bell ringers, or even opinion based survey quizzes. I know a lot of my classes I take now use QR codes for attendance and I think that is very efficient. I think the only downfall is ensuring that each student has a device to access the QR code.
The pad was not letting me copy and paste however, the case study I chose to use was about using AI in a fifth grade classroom. The AI was used to create math problems and examples that were often too complicated for students and did not align with the curriculum in the situation. I would not use the AI probably at all. I would try to look for examples that would line up with what the students would know because it would be unfair to give them something way too difficult. AI is good to use as an outline, but when it comes to generating problems, it can often make things that are way too difficult for students or out of the curriculum.
