Blog Journal 4

Blog Journal 4      My early experiences using social media tools such as Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter/X started outside of school mostly to connect with friends, family and peers. I have the most experience with instagram and Pinterest and the least amount of experience with twitter. My experiences on these social media platforms has taught me how to interact and use my digital resources. I usually connect with my friends and family members to stay in contact or share fun memories with my followers. I use Pinterest for inspiration for decoration, crafts, clothing and lifestyle. These platforms may be useful in my career to document my progress and search for examples or idea to implement into my classroom.     The digital divide causes unequal access in schools to technology. Even when the digital divide is declined there is still an inequality of skill in students, staff, and faculty. The digital divide is a serious problem because of its ability to...

Blog Journal #3      Technology is incredibly important in classrooms to expand accessibility and effiiency however technology also brings along many issues as well. In the implementation of technology often leads to decreased productivity due to the distractions that it brings. This isa serious problem because it can hinder learning but that does not mean technology isn't useful or that it cannot be solved. In order to increase probability on devices such as computers or tablets in the classroom, exposure time could be monitored and limited. If student are given too much free time on devices they will get distracted. Another solution would be to put website blockers on websites that are not used for learning.      Copyright is an important topic when regarding technological use in the classroom. Copyright and fair use are essential in making sure that a student's work is their own. I have never learned about copyright in school however I have heard a...

ISTE Standards Blog Post #2- Rachel Miller

ISTE Standards Blog Post #2- Rachel Miller      MS Word has been an extremely prominent tool in my education and I have used it for many years. Word is definitely my favorite processing software because it is universally accepted, straight forward, efficient and typically the standard software. In high school, I used a combination of Word and Google Docs. At the time Word did not automatically save work so I preferred using Google Docs so that I wouldn't lose my work if I forgot to save everything but since Word also automatically saves now it is my preferred software.       The ISTE standards for educators include: Learner, leader, citizen, collaborator, designer, facilitator, and analyst. The standard that is most meaningful to me is the designer standard. I am a very creative person and I want that to be reflected in my style of teaching. I thoroughly enjoy using Canva, Word, and Powerpoint to make learning effective and creative...

✎🍎Hi welcome to my blog!📚🎒      Hi everyone, my name is Rachel Miller and I am excited to be enrolled in this class this semester! This is a class for technology in the classroom and I am hoping to gain technological literacy and be able to successfully troubleshoot any technical difficulties I may face when using tech in the classroom. In classrooms, technology can be extremely helpful and even in some cases vital. However, with technology comes a great amount of skill and knowledge needed in order to use it effectively. This year I hope to master all forms of classroom technology including educational apps and games, presentation platforms such as "Canva" and also the grading systems that teachers use.        I have been in school for almost 14 years now so that gives me a great amount of experience with classroom technology. In my schooling experience from kindergarten to present day (college) I have used computers to access e...
