Blog Journal #5
My experience with blogging is very sparse and limited. My only experience with blogging has been in this class but blogging is similar to other forms of media expression such as texting or writing an article and publishing it online. I have learned how to set up a blog, write down my ideas in a structured yet casual manner, and how to add pictures to a blog. I really like the very laid back and genuine feeling that comes from blogging but I don't really like how bland it can look at times.
Artificial intelligence has recently become a huge part of education and academics. There are positive and negative aspects that both have their unique consequences on learning. While Ai can be used unjustly and dishonestly, whenever is it used correctly it is a very powerful and helpful tool. Artificial intelligence has a negative connotation in a majority of peoples eyes however whenever any tool is used incorrectly, it has the potential to do more harm than good. For students, I would say it is easier to use artificial intelligence in a harmful manner due to laziness, time restraints, and even lack of knowledge. However if a teacher that is well educated with using artificial intelligence correctly it is a very necessary tool. I think student usage of Ai should be limited until students are educated enough on how and when to use Ai.
Using Ai to create a lesson plan for the portfolio item: Generative Ai was extremely helpful and concise. The information given was all correct and relevant however it was up to me to double check and insure that nothing in the lesson plan contradicts itself or was false information. I tried to use the Ai by giving it a prompt to generate a response that I would then use as a lesson plan for a hypothetical classroom. The prompt I used was clear, short, and specific which worked really well for the generative Ai platform I used (chatgpt). Next time I would use the Ai in a similar manner.
I envision myself using artificial intelligence frequently in my classroom however I will not become dependent on it and I will use it cooperatively with my own human work. I would mostly use Ai for outline and guidelines rather than getting my information and research strictly from Ai. I would also double check the accuracy of the information I receive from these browsers. I would address ethical concerns of using Artificial Intelligence by being open about usage, clear about what is from Ai and what isn't, and I would also read any policies regarding Ai usage at my school and even create one for my own classroom.
